A third generation Southern California native, Diane grew up in the outskirts of Los Angeles, developing a deep appreciation for the natural rhythms and forms of her foothill surroundings. She has been fortunate in her life, to visit many of this country’s National Parks and most beautiful spots, as well as some of Canada and Europe. She is most captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the Na’pali Coast of Kauai’i, the mountains and red rock country of the Southwestern United States, and of course, the spectacular beauty of her home state, California . Diane earned her Bachelor of Arts – Fine Arts, Studio, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She’s been most drawn to subjects from nature her whole life, and captures them in the media of Photography and Painting in Oil, Watercolor and Acrylic. Currently, Diane has been concentrating on Contemporary Impressionism thru Plein Air Landscape in oils. She finds exhiliration and inspiration working directly from nature this way. Diane is the current Vice President of the San Fernando Valley Art Club, www.sfvartclub.org/index.html, and was recently awarded Honorable Mention for her painting, "Storm Rising: Monument Valley, Arizona," in the club's November 2009 group show, by juror David Gallup. She is also an exhibiting member of Valley Artists Guild, www.valleyartistsguild.org/index.htm, an Associate member of the California Art Club www.californiaartclub.org/ , member of Los Angeles Experimental Artists (LAEA,) a member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA,) member of the Valley Artists Studio Tour (VAST.) In addition to her painting and collage work, Diane loves working with natural gemstones, creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces of her own design. Jeff and Diane feel priviledged to have reared three amazing sons, and make their home in the North San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.
